Less than a month after launch, Windows 10 is now running on more than 75 million devices.
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft's Corporate Vice President for the Windows and Devices Group, announced the milestone on Twitter.
That's a jump from the 14 million or so devices that switched over to the new OS within the first 24 hours of its launch. Already, Windows 10 is running in 192 countries, or "virtually every country on the planet," Mehdi added.
Other fun facts: More than 90,000 unique PC or tablet models are running the new OS, including some devices dating back to 2007. And gamers have wasted no time getting their streaming on — in 1080p/60fps, no less.
"More than 122 years of gameplay have streamed from Xbox One to Windows 10 devices," Mehdi wrote.
Cortana is also getting a lot of action. In response to "tell me a joke," Microsoft's digital assistant has already told more than half a million funnies since launch, Mehdi said. The Windows Store for Windows 10 has also seen six times as many app downloads per device than Windows 8.
Meanwhile, Microsoft also this week made things a little easier for Windows 10 users with the release of a downloadable, printable guide of all the shortcut keys you can use from the desktop in the new OS. Just print out the handy guide, and you'll be using shortcuts to do things like open settings, launch Cortana, and cycle through notifications in no time.
For comparison, Microsoft sold 40 million Windows 8 licenses in one month, while it took about a year for Redmond to reach 240 million licenses sold with Windows 7. With Windows 10, Microsoft has made the OS a free upgrade so more users are likely taking advantage of it.
