Heads up, So You Think You Can Dance fans: Keeping up with the competition and other Fox shows is about to get a lot more convenient.
That's because the network is now live streaming its primetime programming on its website and mobile app, at the same time it airs on TV. The only catch is that you'll still need a Pay TV subscription to watch it.
Still in beta, the feature launched Monday evening with the first live performance episode of the dance competition series So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation. Going forward, Fox plans to live stream shows seven nights a week, including the scripted series Wayward Pines, cooking shows MasterChef and Hotel Hell, home makeover series Home Free, the 2016 Teen Choice Awards on July 31, and more.
Individual cable providers, like Comcast and Time Warner Cable, have long offered live streams of their TV lineups. And a number of networks post their shows online shortly after airing on TV. But Fox says it's the only broadcast network to offer fans in all 210 television markets nationwide the ability to live stream its primetime programming.
The feature is available on Fox.com as well as the Fox Now mobile app for iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire, Apple TV, and Google Chromecast devices. The network will also continue to offer live sports programming on its Fox Sports Go app.
