New leaked photos of the Microsoft Band 2 highlight major changes, like a curved shape, metallic finish, and physical buttons.
As reported by MicrosoftInsider.es, the second-gen wearable—codenamed "Envoy"—will come with a handful of new software features, as well.
The second-gen device will include sensors found on the original band, but will also track how many flights of stairs you climb, the site said. After a workout, you can also use your gadget to buy coffee at Starbucks.
It will also sport an optical heart rate monitor, accelerometer/gyrometer/GPS, microphone, ambient light sensor, Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) sensors, and a UV sensor, according to Windows Central. The curved device, meanwhile, appears to house its battery on the underside of the color display, instead of either side.
Microsoft declined to comment. The company is hosting a media event in New York City next month that is expected to include the launch of a next-gen Microsoft Band, as well as new Lumia phones and perhaps a Surface tablet.
