RAINBOW MIKA REVEALED FOR STREET FIGHTER V

Capcom has announced Street Fighter V's next character, the flamboyant wrestling fan-favorite Rainbow Mika, aka R. Mika.

A new trailer posted on the PlayStation Blog shows off an assortment of R. Mika's wrestling moves, including an assortment of body slams, power bombs, and many more that incorporate her tag team partner Nadeshiko.

R. Mika's last, and only, appearance in the series was Street Fighter Alpha 3. Like Sakura with Ryu, R. Mika idolizes Zangief, though it might be safe to say she brings much more energy to her matches.

"By calling Nadeshiko at the right time using R. Mika’s V-Trigger ability," Capcom community manager Peter "Combofiend" Rosas said, "you’ll be able to setup sneaky attacks and punishing command grab mix-ups that are sure to knock the stuffing out of your opponent. Players who enjoy close-combat guessing games and striking fear into the hearts of opponents will find R. Mika an absolute delight to play."

Her V-Skill ability is called the Mic Performance and she literally becomes powered-up as she pulls out a microphone and gives a "heart-pumping monologue." She can absorb a hit in this state and the longer the buttons are held, the more powerful her normal and special throws become. Players can cancel the the Mic Performance at any time by letting go of the buttons, and she'll throw the microphone at her opponent.

R. Mika's V-Trigger incorporates her tag partner Nadeshiko in three different ways. Whichever direction players hold during V-Trigger activation causes Nadeshiko to attack from different angles. Holding back brings Nadeshiko in for a dropkick from the front. Holding forward and she dropkicks the opponent from behind. Activating V-Trigger in neutral brings Nadeshiko in with a body splash from above.

Capcom has also revealed that R. Mika will be playable at PAX Prime this weekend in Seattle.

It is not clear if she will be available during the worldwide Street Fighter V beta test that begins tomorrow and runs for five days.
